How does W.A.V.E Technology work?
All progressive lenses have distortions caused by changes in curvature across the lens surface. These distortions reduce the perception of contrast and sharpness. W.A.V.E. Technology 2 enables Varilux® lens designers to analyze an entire beam of light as it passes through the lens.
This allows them to:
• Identify and virtually eliminate lens distortions for clearer, sharper vision even in low light.
• Customize lens designs by taking into account changes in pupil size.

Our Xtend™ Technology found in the Varilux® X Series™ lenses significantly extends vision within arm’s reach so you no longer have to move your head around to find your focus. Xtend technology allows Essilor lens designers the ability to control an infinite number of points on the lens according to the patient’s prescription. As a result, patients can focus on multiple distances within arm’s reach through the same area of the lens. This provides sharp vision without the patient moving their head.
